Venue sales analytics

Drop a Square POS export on the window and see revenue by hour and by bar, drink performance, variance against forecast and season trends.

Everything runs on the laptop. No sales data leaves the building.

Venue Sales desktop app — a Square CSV export is dropped on the window, imported, then the hour by bar revenue heatmap, beverage performance, forecast variance and season trend are shown (synthetic data)

The problem

For every event, the operator exported a Square report per hour and per bar, then copied it by hand into a large Google Sheets workbook. That's about 30,000 line items an event, across some 36 events a season.

What I built

  • Drag-and-drop import of Square CSV exports, including whole past seasons at once
  • Hour × bar revenue, drink performance, forecast against actual, and season trends
  • Till counts and attendance alongside the sales
  • The season's Excel workbook rebuilt from the imported data
  • Runs fully offline on a Mac: a local database and no network code at all
